Southern Sorceresses

Never has queer joy been so fragile and so defiant! Marginalised communities of Black trans women, indigenous groups and non-binary people co-create an open square in Sao Paulo. Rebellious and confrontational, radical performance jostles alongside fierce debate with bemused passers-by, drunk men and homeless people. This electrifying documentary buzzes throughout as these disparate communities attempt to build alliances for their survival against the rise of Bolsonaro, and even features a cameo from superstar academic Judith Butler.
