Covid’s not over, but your twink era is. TGirlsonFilm presents the UK Premiere of Theda Hammel’s Stress Positions, a queer comedy of errors set during lockdown. Watch neurotic New York transplants navigate identity politics and their own whiteness in the wake of the George Floyd uprising. Two queer friends unravel as they approach their forties, leaving only two options, twink death or transition.

The gay drama all converges at the Brooklyn brownstone of Terry Goon, a mid-thirties “I’m with her’’ gay guy who peaked with the legalisation of gay marriage and Lady Gaga’s career. Upon the arrival of his gen-z Moroccan model nephew, Bahlul, whose peak twink-dom and intersections trigger Goon and his trans friend, Karla, who both shamelessly bid for relevance in a terminally online world.  A meditation on coming of age post-9/11 with slapstick banana slips, intra-community conflict and live streaming surveillance. If that all sounds like too much adulting, come for a dazzling cameo by Nymphowars host and pop starlet, Macy Rodman.

Followed by Q&A with filmmaker Theda Hammel.
Presented in partnership with TGirlsonFilm.
