To mark the recent passing of screen icon Bernard Hill, we're putting on an almost-30th-anniversary screening of Chris Newby's dreamlike and artfully directed classic of British queer cinema, presented from a stunning 35mm print.
Fed up with London's shallow gay scene (and who isn't?), shy Harry flees the city and buries himself among the wreckage of the coastline. There, he crosses paths with Flint, a stormy, sardonic and seemingly straight older thief with a mysterious past. Joined by their desire for liberated lives outside the curtain-twitching gaze of British society, the two slowly come to trust, dream, and ultimately find solace in one another.
