Dragging into the Future
Monday, 14 September
6.30 PM
The Cinema Museum
“We are all playing with structures that were imposed on us, and we are on stage trying to destroy them and trying to create new ones that don’t exist”. An art form on the margins, Drag anyway has the ambition to undermine gender and take apart the archetypal “Man”.
Starting with an historical perspective, then moving through the voices of London Drag King fans and the incredible work of Canadian collective The Darlings, and finally landing on a performer who brought Drag into the Art world, Dragging into the Future explores the explosive potential of the Art of Drag.
